The Bimini islands are located just 50 miles off the coast of Miami and include North and South Bimini, Cat Cay and some smaller cays. Bimini is said to be the sport fishing capital of The Bahamas and very popular diving hub with the “Bimini Road” said to be the lost ruins of Atlantis as a major attraction. Ponce de Leon wrote that he had discovered the fountain of youth on Bimini and Ernest Hemingway was a frequent visitor sparking many of his imaginative stories and legendary sportfishing adventures.

Alice Town

Alice Town is the main settlement and center of activity and tourism on North Bimini. There are several hotels, bars, and restaurants. North of Alice Town is the main settlement (where most islanders live) called Bailey Town. To the north of Bailey Town is Porgy Bay. There is a beautiful sandy beach facing the Gulfstream and Florida to the west which includes the entire continuous stretch of sand referred to by the locals as Radio Beach and Blister Bay. It has several quiet spots for sunbathing and a variety of fast food restaurants and bars located alongside Radio Beach.

Resort World Bimini

Resorts World is located on North Bimini island and is a750-acre premier luxury beachfront resort that spans approximately half the intimate island of North Bimini. The property consists of a sleek, newly designed lobby, lavish Serenity Spa and Salon and 10,000 square feet of modern event and meeting space. Resorts World has the largest marina complex in the Bahamas and is said by many to be the sport fishing capital of the world. Travel Channel named Resorts World Bimini Destination of the Month. There is a diverse selection of real estate including condos, rental homes and homesites.

South Bimini

Bimini is bigger, with nicer beaches and higher elevations than low-lying North Bimini. It has the only runway of the two islands and 2 primary canal communities, Port Royal in the southern part of the island and Buccaneer Point in the north. It is a more quiet island because of less commercial activity and has a small selection of shops near the ferry landing where boats make regular crossings between the two islands. Bimini Sands Resort is the biggest property on the island with its safe-harbor marina, condos, and nature trail. South of the main resort is the South Bimini Beach Club.
